Strip technology of corn and soy-bean cultivation for grain - a new stage in the development of soy-bean sowing on irrigated lands of the Volga region

Soy-bean plants develop more intensively and by the time of harvesting exceed the crops by means of the ordinary technology by 37-52 cm. Beans of the lower tiers are formed at an height of 18-20 cm (2-5 cm higher than in ordinary sowing), which is very important for mechanized harvesting, more beans with large seeds are formed. Ultimately, the grain yield with the new technology increases by 0.33-0.58 t/ha. Production tests of strip technology of soy-bean cultivation confirm its prospects in the conditions of irrigation of Zavolzhye. Especially it is perspective for the drought-resistant regions of a dry-steppe zone of the Volga region where during vegetation of crops air temperature rises till 35-40 degrees, but the relative humidity decreases to 12-8%. In these severe weather conditions existence of corn strips will reliably protect crops of soy-bean from hot winds and will be a reliable guarantor of increasing its harvest.
